Hello and welcome! Join us for DIY interior design to make your home a unique and decadent sanctuary.
We’re Sean and Shannon, a totally normal couple, who is transforming our weird 80’s house into a modern speakeasy and making it martini-ready.

#SpeakeasyStyle
Some of our favorite experiences in life have been eating and drinking at Fäviken in Sweden, Bourbon and Branch in San Francisco, Sands Hotel in Palm Springs, Roquette in Seattle, and The Library Bar in Copenhagen. All are decadent places with hidden surprises that fostered unforgettable experiences. We want to bring that magic to our home.
Yes, there is a specific speakeasy aesthetic, but we think it’s more than that. A speakeasy home sets the perfect setting for parties as much as it does for introvert sessions. It’s a place that inspires and replenishes.
Our home has a bright teal booth for cocktail hour, an opulent library…and yes, at least one trick door to a secret wine room. #SpeakeasyStyle is bold, whimsical, energizing, and surprising.
DIY Interior Design
Join us as we DIY interior design our house and share our tips and tricks (and cautionary tales). As a couple, we make all design decisions, build the budget, and do the construction projects together as a team. Because we don’t have a huge pile of cash, we’re transforming our home bit by bit as we can afford it and living through the construction. We’ll be sharing tips to not lose your insanity as you trip over balls of tape while trying to carry your martini.
You can DIY interior design your home too–it just takes patience, creativity, and listening to your gut while ignoring trends (sorry neutrals!). Bring on the wild wallpaper, brass vintage lights, patterned tile, tropical house plants, and coupe glasses to attain that modern speakeasy life. Now, let’s pour a cocktail and tell some tales after a long work week while we wait for the steaks to be ready.

Note: This is a house renovation IN PROGRESS…we are showing the reality of how long it takes to actually renovate a home that you live in. Please use your imagination because the final shots with everything in place are months away, but enjoy the hilarious stories along the way!
I have been a guest of Shannon and Sean’s in their new speakeasy style home. I actually spent the night in a pink velvet bed with vintage lamps and colorful style. Every time I visit Seattle I have to check out the house because there is always something new. And damn they are amazing hosts!
